Certification Program’s New “Qualified” Status Presentation

MICCS Certification Program

The MICCS Certification Program is essentially a web-based database that contains detailed information about participating contractor's safety program and record. By participating in it, contractors allow owners—and if they wish, other contractors—to use the program to evaluate them and decide whether to safety prequalify the participating contractor.

There is detailed information regarding other benefits of participating in the program at the Certification Home Page. You can also view the PowerPoint presentation that was used to introduce the program to the industry in 2002.

Some additional pertinent information:

  • The cost for contractors to participate is $450 for MICCS members or $600 for nonmember companies. You will be given more information on this after you complete the certification application.

You can download the Safety Prequalification Form here.

Owners do not require that any company be MICCS certified in order to bid or to contract with them. They may, however, require that a contractor participate in the program. The outcome for the contractor may or may not be that they become MICCS certified—but MICCS certification cannot be required.

Very few contractors are able to attain the very high level of safety performance and record required to become "MICCS Certified." Certified contractors have made a very high commitment to worker safety.

  • Major owners and contractors have issued policies regarding how they intend to use the certification program:

    Clarian Health Partners
    Eli Lilly and Company
    Reilly Industries
    IPLAES
    Roche Diagnostic Corporation
